The Word Becomes Flesh
\nJohn 1:14
\nAnd the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
\nI) The WORD was made flesh.
\nA) The Word of verse 1-2, that is God.
\nB) He was made, which means he became something he was not before.
\n1) That something was flesh (man), as body, soul and spirit.
\n2) He shared man\u2019s attributes but not his nature.
\nII) How was he made flesh?
\nA) Luke 1: 26-34\u00a0Holy Ghost shall overshadow thee.
\nB) Matthew 1: 18-25 Knew her not till, this word till is very important.
\n1) In Luke 8: 19-21 we see his physical brethren born to his mother Mary.
\n2) In John 1: 12-13 we read \u201cwhich were born, not of blood\u201d and in John 3: 3-7 that every man must be born again, so tainted is man that not\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 even those born from the same womb were exempt from this requirement.
\n3) Why? Because only one had innocent blood.\u00a0 Matthew 27: 4: I have betrayed the innocent blood.
\nC) Hebrews 2: 16-17 Note the care the Scripture takes to avoid terms that would suggest He took on our sinful nature.\u00a0 He\u00a0was made like unto his brethren but not exactly the same.\u00a0 Hebrews 4: 15, he could be tempted, but because his nature\u00a0was different the Tempter found no point at which his temptations interested Jesus.
\nIII) We beheld His glory. How?
\nA) Full of grace and truth. 1 John 2:6 say \u201cHe that abideth in him ought himself also to walk, even as he walked.
\nB) I want to stress the truth part.
\n1) John 14:6; I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father but by me.
\n2) Ephesians 2: 8-9; For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.
\nConclusion:
\nWe live in a day where people say \u201cyou must believe\u201d or \u201cI\u2019m a person of faith\u201d. Faith is of no merit by itself, otherwise it\u2019s just positive thinking.\u00a0 The only thing that makes faith effectual is the object in which ones faith is in.\u00a0 If Jesus is just a good man then he has the same underlying problem that we have, sin.
\nIt was absolutely necessary he be conceived differently, so as to bypass the Adamic nature.\u00a0 For it was man that sin entered into the world and death as a result of sin and why death visits every man\u2019s door.
\nWhy did he come in the flesh? Hebrews 2: 14-18.\u00a0 It was absolutely necessary for our sakes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
