Amazing Grace

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared unto all men.  Titus 2: 11

John Newton penned the words, “Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretched like me, I once was lost but now I’m found, twas blind but now I see”.  When I think about what I was and even what I am now, I cannot help but think of these words.  What do I have to offer God for the redemption of my soul from eternal destruction.  I have nothing special to offer.  No matter what I may become, it is all because of gifts that He has blessed me with.  When I think of all the times I have failed to show proper appreciation for all His blessings I am reminded of His, “amazing grace”.  Oh how sweet the sound of the word “grace”! If you find no sweetness in this word, then you have not realized the wretchedness of your own heart; pride has blinded your eyes from seeing how far short of God’s glory you have come.  If you ever come to see it, it will be the grace of God, because the heart of man, according to God’s word is desperately wicked. We left to ourselves will never know the depths of its wickedness until its too late, and we find ourselves in hell, eternally tormented, eternally separated from God and hope. Oh but because of grace, God commended Hi love toward us, even while we were still enemies against Him. So. “when we’ve been there ten thousand years… we’ve no less days to sings God’s grace…” Read about it in the Revelation, what are they doing?  Singing of God’s AMAZING GRACE!
