For, lo, the winter is past… Song of Solomon 2: 11

As spring has finally arrived here in Iowa and I anticipate Easter lilies, roses and all the others beautiful flowers that will soon adorn yards around the area, I cannot help but think of the great change that will take place.  I also cannot help but think of the dialogue in this chapter between the bridegroom and bride.  This though really caught my attention will preparing a message a few weeks ago.  I wonder if we anticipate our Lord’s voice the way the this woman did her beloved.  I wonder if realized the great love and desire that our beloved has to sweet us away to moment of rich, sweet communion with himself. Oh that we would desire to hear his voice and quickly respond and say oh, sweep me away, let my heart melt at thy words.  May his love melt away the cold from our hearts and allow the fragrant flowers of spring fill our lives so that we draw others to find where the sweet swell arises.
