Here Am I; send me- Isaiah 6: 8

Recently I have heard so many pleas for help.  A missionary friend begging for young men to go to Africa, pastor friends in the Mid-West speaking of needs for pastors in many small town churches.  Churches like ours, to which I came after they had been without a pastor for a good while and all the young people had left, are in need of young families to help work, teach and visit.  The need of our world is great, yet it seems fewer are answering the call to go.  Isaiah had seen the glory of God in a time of great need.  King Uzziah had died, he had ruled Judah in a Godly fashion for 52 years and now his son Jotham was coming to the throne and as of yet had not been tested, so how he would lead was unsure.  In this time of uneasiness God revealed himself to Isaiah and then presented Isaiah with a challenge.  The challenge was who would go and represent God to the people, Isaiah heard the words put forth and said I will take up the challenge.   God still puts forth that challenge today, the Great Commission has not been revoked.  We are still commanded to go and still commanded to pray for laborers.  I wonder if we hear the challenge?  Let it not be said of us that God sought for a man but could not find one when we could say Here am I; send me!”
